Michael has worked with companies on various aspects of their business involving global manufacturing, sourcing, ocean shipping, domestic logistics and international marketing for more than 40 years. 

During a 27-year career at the DuPont Company, he was responsible for purchasing international ocean and air transportation services for shipments between the USA and South/Central America and Asia. Earlier in his career, he was responsible for international marketing and sales in Latin America and traveled the area extensively. While at DuPont, he also was responsible for the global distribution of high-explosives. This included using all forms of transportation, including chartering small vessels and aircraft.

Michael chaired the Ocean Transportation Committee of the National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) for three years. He has testified before the U.S. Congress several times on maritime issues. He is often invited to speak at important industry events worldwide, including in Buenos Aires in 2008 on maritime issues and shippers’ associations and the Global Shippers Forum in Dubai in 2009. He remains a member of the NIT League’s Ocean Transportation Committee.

Currently, Michael represents Polzug Intermodal GmbH, a Hamburg-based rail intermodal service provider with an extensive European network. Previously he was U. S. Marketing Manager for the Port of Hamburg for 12 years. He maintains working relationships with key ocean transportation executives and logistics buyers at the strategic as well as operational level in the U.S. and overseas, offering marketing intelligence and marketing development solutions.
