ALLISON FREEMAN
MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
"You've got to get up every morning with determination if you're going to go to bed with satisfaction.”
—George Lorimer
Allison comes to BSY as an award-winning journalist and a seasoned public relations and communications manager. She began her career as a news reporter for The Star-Ledger where she covered general assignment, suburban Essex County, health and education news before moving to features where she covered young people in the arts and family entertainment.
With the negative impact of the economy on newspapers, Allison started her own public relations firm, Allison Freeman Associates LLC, where she worked with numerous nonprofits and schools including the Newark Museum, the BlinkNow Foundation and Drew University. She has also overseen communications for three public school districts, EZ Ride and HealthCare Institute of New Jersey and most recently worked in corporate communications at Wakefern Food Corp. She joined the BSY team as a Public Relations Account Supervisor in 2023.
Allison has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in French from Syracuse University. A Jersey girl, she loves spending time with her husband, two sons and her dog. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking and baking and playing tennis.
